Vintage Replica Rolex – The Largest Collection in the World – David Silver
The unique photo material collected on 384 pages of a beautifully published book is a must for every Replica Rolex enthusiast. The album perfectly shows how well-known and popular watches have changed over the years.
There is no other place like The Vintage Watch Company in the world. The family store run by John and David Silver (father and son) is a real paradise for Rolex replica fans,
specifically vintage models of the company. It was created in 1995 and in the last 25 years,
countless,
often very interesting watches have appeared on its shelves. Currently, the Silvers have nearly 2,000 Rolexes for sale in their London store, which is the largest collection in one place in the world.
Each watch is photographed and cataloged before it hits a store shelf at The Vintage Watch Company. And it was the extremely rich and unique material and the 25th anniversary of the company that prompted David Silver to publish the book “Vintage Rolex”. In an interview with Forbes,
the author said, “Watch collectors are not my target customer because I want our watches to be worn,
displayed and talked about,
and not kept locked in a dark safe that is opened once a year.”
The 384 pages of the book contain photos of about 1,800 watches – some of them are still available for purchase at TVWC. Others show how the trends and designs of famous collections have changed over the years. Interestingly,
David chose an Oyster Perpetual Day-Date with a yellow Stella dial for the cover,
not knowing at all that Rolex will be showing the entire range of Oyster Perpetual models with colored dials in 2020.
In “Vintage Rolex” we read briefly about the history of Replica Rolex,
i.e. the first Submariner,
the GMT-Master model prepared for Pan-Am pilots,
the first Explorer to take part in the famous Everest expedition in 1953,
and about famous people and figures who timepieces from this company (Paul Newman, Elvis Presley, Steve McQueen, James Bond). The next part is a collection of cataloged watches with short descriptions.
After reading the book,
I wanted even more to visit the Burlington Arcade in London’s West End and buy a watch from my year of birth that has some interesting history behind it.
