In the run-up to the Watches & Wonders 2024 watch fair, there was once again a lot of half-baked speculation in numerous blogs and magazines about what new products Rolex and its subsidiary Tudor might have in store. Most of the rumors (as usual) have not actually come true.

New in 2024: Green Rolex GMT-Master II

Duo becomes trio: In addition to the “Pepsi” and “Batman” versions of the GMT-Master II, Fake Rolex has added a new version with a monoblock Cerachrom dial made of green and black, high-gloss ceramic to its range in 2024. The recessed graduations and numerals are (as usual) coated with a thin layer of platinum using a PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) process.

From a functional point of view, the combination of a two-tone, bidirectional bezel and a 24-hour hand has enabled globetrotters and airline pilots such as Pan Am to mark a second time zone since 1954. The two-tone bezel has always been without doubt the key feature of the Rolex GMT-Master: the original idea behind it was that users could see at a glance whether it was currently day or night at home.

The well-known Caliber 3285 of the GMT-Master II is powered by the Perpetual Rotor automatic winding mechanism. Thanks to the design of its barrel and the greater efficiency of the escapement, the caliber now boasts a power reserve of 70 hours. It also boasts Superlative Chronometer certification (accuracy of −2/+2 seconds per day, tested after case-setting) and an anti-magnetic Parachrom balance spring.

New Rolex Air-King 2024

Most watch enthusiasts assumed that the Rolex Air-King would be discontinued – for good reason. Accordingly, prices on portals such as Chrono24 have exploded (again). It was therefore quite a surprise that the Rolex Air-King is staying, and without any significant changes to the dial: the pilot’s watch divides opinions with a dial design based on two analog cockpit watches that Rolex delivered in 2006 for the British Bloodhound LSR project. What particularly catches the eye is the (somewhat unusual) mix of applied numerals and printed minute numerals as well as the green Rolex lettering with a yellow crown.

The dial design goes back to a project to develop a supersonic vehicle that houses a turbine from the Eurofighter Typhoon as a propulsion system under the 13-meter-long body. Cool, right? Well, not really: Rolex probably doesn’t like the fact that the Bloodhound project went bankrupt in 2018 and had to look for a new investor again in early 2021. In mid-2021 it was announced that the project had been revived, but it is by no means really gaining momentum.
